Brunton wants an editor.

Someone who can cut a reel that stops the scroll, tell a story without losing the plot, and contirbute to a project from pre-production to the final export.

Role: Junior Editor
Location: St. James, Port of Spain
Type: Full-time
Reports to: Creative Director

Who we are

Brunton Street Productions is a boutique production and creative studio in St. James. We make brand films, commercials and social content for brands across Trinidad and the region.

We're small on purpose. We have no layers and no account managers. Our priority is the quality of our work.

The job

  • Be present. Our editors don't sit around waiting for drives to land. You'll be at the shoots, see how the footage gets captured, and carry the project through to delivery. Knowing the whole pipeline makes you a better editor. That's how we work.
  • Cut social. Reels for Instagram, TikTok and Google Ads. Strong hooks, clean pacing, captions that land.
  • Own the footage. You handle offloads, backups, folder structure, bins, metadata and proxies from our RED, Canon, Sony and Blackmagic shoots. If someone asks for a shot, finding it should take seconds.
  • Rough grade. Use our looks and LUTs to get edits ready for client review.
  • Sound. Music edits, SFX, dialogue levels and a basic mix.
  • Motion graphics. Titles, lower thirds, end cards, animated logos.
  • Revisions. Turn client and director notes around fast, and get them right the first time.
  • Deliver and archive. Export to the right specs and formats, and file projects away clean when they wrap.

The tools

  • DaVinci Resolve: our main suite for edit, colour and audio. You need to be comfortable cutting here.
  • After Effects: titles, graphics and simple animation.
  • Illustrator: prepping logos and brand assets.
  • Photoshop: thumbnails, stills and quick fixes.

What we're looking for

  • 1 to 2 years of editing. Freelance, agency and film school work all count. Your CV isn't the whole story, though. If you're hungry, coachable and ready to be pushed, apply even if your CV is short.
  • A reel with range: scripted and narrative work, event recaps, fast social.
  • Rhythm. You know when to hold a shot and when to cut.
  • You get social: vertical framing, the first three seconds, platform specs, what's moving right now.
  • Tight deadlines don't break you, and neither does juggling a few projects at once.
  • You're picky about file naming and folder structure. We mean that as a compliment.
  • You take notes well and ask good questions. Feedback is about the work, not about you.
  • You flag problems early, not the night before delivery.
  • You want the whole process, not just the edit suite.

Bonus points

  • RED R3D or Blackmagic RAW workflows.
  • Time on set as a camera assistant, DIT or PA.
  • 3D, simulations and scene building in Blender or Houdini.
  • VFX: compositing, tracking, cleanup, set extensions.
  • Comfort with AI tools in post. They're part of how we work now.
  • A real feel for Caribbean culture, music and humour, and how to put it on screen without it feeling forced.

How to apply

We read every one. Show us the work.
